Bay Areas Tech for Good Award
鶹ýӳ RECOGNIZED AT 2015 TECH & INNOVATION AWARDS—
San Francisco Business Times honors the Bay Area’s most innovative and enterprising technology companies last night, .
鶹ýӳ was among the 26 dynamic companies recognized at San Francisco Business Times’ annual Tech & Innovations Award ceremony last night. The event highlights organizations leading innovation and job creation in the San Francisco Bay Area. 鶹ýӳ received the Tech for Good award regarding the company’s recent work with e-NABLE on creating a customized 3D printed prosthetic hand for a 4-year-old girl.
“We are incredibly honored to be receiving this award,” said , Lead Industrial Designer at 鶹ýӳ (seen in photo below accepting the award on behalf of the company). “The 鶹ýӳ team feels very fortunate to be in a position where we can allocate and leverage our access to advanced technology and multidisciplinary talent for accelerated product development to a cause bigger than itself.”

鶹ýӳ was introduced to Isabella through e-NABLE, an online community that connects children in need of prosthetic hands with volunteers willing to 3D print a prosthetic free of charge to the recipient. 鶹ýӳ will continue working with the organization and has even created a summer internship program that will be dedicated specifically to e-NABLE projects.
“What is so interesting about the work being by done through the e-NABLE community is that it foreshadows the future of design as one that is user-driven instead of user-centric,” said De La Rosa. “This is big and incredibly exciting.”
Several members of the 鶹ýӳ team contributed to the project. Applications Engineer Bethany Casarez and Industrial Designer (photo above, on right) led the customization, styling and production of the prosthetic.
This marks the first time 鶹ýӳ has been recognized at the Tech & Innovation Awards, though the company has ranked for a second year in a row on San Francisco Business Times fastest growing companies in the Bay Area. 鶹ýӳ has also been recognized on the annual Inc. 500|5000 list of fastest growing private companies in the United States and by ICICs 100 fastest-growing inner city companies in America.
The breadth of this years finalists—which included companies such as Pandora, Munchery and TaskRabbit—demonstrates the breadth and depth of California’s tech foundation. These exceptional companies fuel the regional economy, attracting VC funding and growth capital, adding jobs and transforming every area of technology.
